LOGO OF MMECSSI

The logo of Mother Mary Eugenie Center of Studies and Schools, Inc. is rich in symbolism, reflecting the institution’s mission, values, and identity:

MMECSSI
  • The Boat: Symbolizes the Church and the journey of education. Just as a boat navigates through waters, the school guides learners through the voyage of life with faith and knowledge.

  • The People Figures (Learners): Represent the students of various levels, each nurtured and supported by the school. Their upward posture shows growth, hope, and aspiration.

  • The Cross: Signifies the centrality of Christ in the school’s mission. It represents faith, which is the foundation of all learning and formation in the institution.

  • Philippine Flag Colors: These emphasize nationalism and the school's dedication to molding learners into patriotic and responsible citizens of the country.

  • The Waves/Water: Could signify both the flow of knowledge and the presence of the Holy Spirit. It also suggests the school's resilience and adaptability, especially relevant during challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • "1999" on the Boat: Indicates the year the school was founded, honoring its legacy and long-standing commitment to education.

  • Circular Shape: Represents unity, continuity, and inclusiveness—key values of the school community.

  • Outer Triangle Pattern: Suggests strength, stability, and the dynamic energy of formation and discipline within a structured learning environment.

BRIEF HISTORY OF MMECSSI

A maxim of goodness states that “The work for the poor is not work for God, build the work of God. Happy is the person who has become God’s messenger to reach out to others and to share God’s love through selfless acts for he will inherit God’s Kingdom.” This Christian philosophy must have been the way of life of the founder of Mother Mary Eugenie Learning School, Inc. Mrs. Frida S. Saclao, a kindhearted nurse by profession saw the need of the children of her poor neighbors and barrio folks in Minalin, Pampanga for quality education, who was unable to step into good schools which are so distant due to financial constraints. Moved by their conditions, she founded Mother Mary Eugenie Learning School, Inc. on April 18, 1999, with the assistance of the Assumption Sisters of Assumpta Technical High School.

As the founder-owner, Mrs. Frida S. Saclao was assisted by Mrs. Aurora F. Saclao, a faculty member of Assumpta Technical High School, in managing the operations of the school. The first pupils, totaling to 60, set foot on its ground on June 7, 1999. They were enrolled in either Nursery, Kinder 1 and 2 or Grade 1, is the initial program offered. In the school year 2000-2001, the initial enrollment tripled in number rising to 180 pupils, and the highest grade level reached grade three. The academic year 2001-2002 witnessed the tremendous increase in enrollment. Mother Mary Eugenie Learning School was granted the permit to offer grades four, five and six, and gained recognition by the Department of Education as a private basic learning institution offering pre- elementary and complete elementary programs on April 11, 2002. Due to the continuous expansion of enrollment in elementary, MMECSSI was expected to offer high school classes. With the determination to serve its clientele, MME applied to open secondary course and to amend its name from Mother Mary Eugenie Learning School, Inc to Mother Mary Eugenie Center of Studies and Schools Inc. It was September 30, 2002 when MMELSI was amended to MMECSSI.

Mother Mary Eugenie Center of Studies and Schools, Inc. stood resilient during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 by swiftly adapting a blended mode of learning, ensuring that education remained uninterrupted and accessible to all students. Despite the challenges, the school remained steadfast in its commitment to holistic formation by continuing the construction of the St. Marie Eugenie Chapel. In its pursuit of spiritual growth, the school also introduced the Wednesday Novena as part of its religious activities, further enriching the faith life of the community.

Today, the school is moving forward with its vision by expanding into vocational education. It is in the process of opening TESDA-accredited courses in Cookery and Automotive, equipping learners with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
